• M15x8 stainless steel screws or ST4.2/4.8x12 non-trap self-actuating screws are used for fastening the friction stay. They are called countersunk screw and pan screw commonly
• It is recommended that the friction stay have countersunk hole should be used a countersunk screw, the same as the pan head hole should be used pan head screw according to the actual situation; Only in this way can we ensure the firm reliability of friction stay installation.
• The friction stay must be tightly connected with the window sash and window sash frame without loosening. All screw holes must be produced on the screws, less one screw will affect the tension when the friction stay is used.
• It is recommended that the bottom of the aluminum profile should be lined with steel and fixed with pan head screws if necessary.
• When installing the friction stay, ensure that the distance between the window sash and window sash frame is the height of the friction stay stack, which is generally 16.5~20 mm, different series and specifications have different stacking heights.
• During installation, it is also necessary to note that the friction stay should be placed against the outer edge of the window frame as far as possible, and the triangle head should be placed against the edge of the window frame. At the same time, the upper and lower friction stay should be on the same vertical plane.
• The friction stay needs regular inspection and maintenance. The bottom trough of the friction stay should not fall into sand, cement, lime, acid and alkaline corrosion sundries, too much dust also effect the friction stay performance, which will make the window not smooth when opening and closing. The friction stay should be regularly added with a lubricating oil.
Above three points we should know before we install a friction stay for window!
