Different function

1. The window friction stay supports the window sash movement and keeps the window sash open, and is an important bearing bar in the whole opening and closing process, while the window stay arm only plays a role in keeping the window open angle, and its force is generally small. The another difference is that the installation position of the window friction stay is relatively fixed, while the window stay arm can be adjusted in a large range below the window. The length and installation position of window stay arm determine the range of the opening angle of the window sash. Different positions

The position of the window friction stay is different from that of window stay arm. for example, the window friction stay of top-hung window is used in the upper corner of the window sash, and the window stay arm is blocked in the lower corner of the window, or the middle and lower part; aluminum hinge and window friction stay installation position is different. The aluminum hinge is installed on the rotating side of the window sash, while the window friction stay is installed on the upper and lower (side-hung windows) or left and right (top-hung window) sides of the window sash. Window friction stay are not used for installation on aluminum doors, but aluminum hinge can be installed on aluminum doors and wooden doors.

Different method of application

Aluminum hinges are used on casement windows, it is always used together with the window friction stay to avoid the wind will blow the window sash back and damage it when the window is opened. But the window friction say can be used alone on casement Windows

Different open angle

The function of aluminum hinge in the opening process of doors and Windows is exactly the same as the window friction stay, the function of aluminum hinge is rotation when opening and closing the windows and doors, the max opening angle is 0-180 degree, the window friction stay max opening angle is 0-90 degree. Most of the time aluminum hinge and window friction stay can replace each other, but some special cases must use aluminum hinge, such as, large casement doors and windows using window friction stay is generally difficult to meet the force requirements, then you need to use multiple aluminum hinge common force.
